The willpower-energy project received great news last week: we are finalist at MITs Climate CoLab contest 2016! This contest is collecting a big varity of ideas from all over the world, to be collected and analysed. As a little incentive they awarding 10’000US-$ for the very best to promote the project itself. This is just a drop in the ocean, but these kind of contests are for visibility and awareness for new concepts and approaches.

Civil rights movements: equality of minorities
Environmental concerns: saving nature
All these are representive for changes in political activities. All of them got a big platform.
Result: climate change should become visible!
When well known institutes are running contest like this, a wide range of persons become aware of this. Institutes like MIT, Fraunhofer Forschungsgesellschaft or famous british universities earned a credibility during the time which is really unique. These institutes (and many not mentioned as well) are supposed to be innovative which are opening and supporting trends in technology and society. These events are the reason why disruptive ideas got the chance to be improved and enhanced.
But why climate change again? Not everyone is aware of climate change and some even deny climate change itself. Willpower energy won’t prove one or the other, but we are using one ubiquitous potential pollutant: carbon dioxid. Since industrial revolution 250 years ago, resources were burnt which are not part of midterm carbon-cycles anymore and therefore were added to our atmosphere. This “surplus” of cabon dioxide we would like to use to produce a valuable combustible.
